hello + greetings, fellow adventurers!
we are jayden + caroline. or, a husband + a wife. or, an australian + an american. or, a photographer + a photographer. some might know us as woodnote photography, or even team woodnote, but whether we knew each other or not, we’re friends now, and we are thrilled to be able to share some of our discoveries with you today!
while we hope we might get to share multiple adventures with you in the future, our first stop is brazil. and what a glorious stop it is.
amongst the photographs below are our treks to Lapa, the Escadaria Selarón (mosaic steps) of Santa Teresa (where we even got to see the artist, Jorge Selarón, at work), the Pão de Açúcar (the Sugarloaf Mountain), Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer), the community of Santa Marta – the very place that Michael Jackson filmed his They Don’t Care About Us video, and home of the incredible favela painting, and finally, the fabulous doors of Urca.
and we are really only sharing the very beginnings of what we saw in that incredible country.
if you love sports, then get yourself there in either 2014 for the World Cup, and/or get yourself there in 2016 for the Olympic Games–you won’t be disappointed!
we hope you enjoy this little glimpse into Rio, see you soon lovely people!
(oh, and you can see our full post from our time in brazil on our blog here.)
