Kevin Russ and I decided to meet up in Big Sur a few weeks back. He was already traveling up the coast and I was in LA and thought why the heck not!
So we explored Big Sur with it’s views of the Pacific on one side and forests on the other side of Highway 1. We even climbed down to McWay Falls and stood under the falls itself. The next point of interest was (pun intended) Point Lobos State Reserve in Carmel, CA where a few Instagrammers met up with Kevin so I got to tag along too. It’s just nice to be with a group of people who have a love of capturing the beauty in the world. The light was very bright all day so we waited until 6pm but the park closed at that time. So we all snuck into the park only to get booted out by a ranger and proceeded to go a round about way by the shoreline all in the name of getting the perfect photo. It was an epic adventure of running through fields
and avoiding poison oak at every corner. It was worth it though. The scenery at Point Lobos is reminiscent of Moonrise Kingdom. All the photographs below are from my Canon Mark iii but you can check out my Instagram for iPhone versions from my adventures. And definitely check out Kevin’s Instagram because like whoa. You’ll love it if you’re not following him already.
