spanish travels on 35mm // barcelona & madrid

europe, spain

As explored by:

Spain is my happy place and very much a second home to me. I have been traveling there since I was a baby, and each time I’m able to discover another charming city and way of life. I was there for a few weeks this holiday season and made a quick trip to Barcelona. It was a colorful and flavorful experience as we had tapas at little stands in La Boqueria off of Las Ramblas, and explored all of Gaudi’s exquisite works of art. The last few days spent in Madrid were full of great weather and lovely treks through El Retiro. All photos were shot on 35mm film as a personal challenge. Links to all locations photographed are listed below. For more of my photos of Spain from recent trips take a look here and here. And for more landscapes from around the world please visit me here.

Nothing beats jumping in the car and taking a drive down Highway 1. I had a few days free, so I did just that. Driving from San Francisco to Big Sur and then back up through Carmel and Monterey. The weather changes constantly, what started out as a beautifully sunny day quickly changed into a foggy evening. It’s pretty spectacular watching the fog eat of all of the trees and blanket it until darkness comes. A few recognizable spots:
